 Biography

I have been married to Kristen Salliewhite for seventeen years. We have two wonderful boys, Jalen, 20, and Josiah, 16. Jalen is a Junior Physical education major at the University of South Carolina. “Go Gamecocks!” Josiah is a Junior in high school and plays football, loves building things with his hands and playing video games. Kristen works as a school counselor at Pinecrest Elementary.

Spending the last nine years coaching and teaching in McCormick County School District provided me with many opportunities. I was the Assistant Principal at McCormick High School, a position I held for six years. I have over 20 years of experience in public education, serving as a paraprofessional, career development facilitator, middle college coach, SPED teacher, assistant principal, coach, and athletic director. Having the privilege to work in two different school districts in South Carolina has prepared me for this job. 

I am thrilled to be embarking on a new year in my professional journey as the principal of Brewer Middle School. The opportunity to contribute to the shaping of America's future citizens is a privilege I do not take lightly. I am honored to have been chosen to lead Brewer Middle School toward becoming the premier middle school in South Carolina. “Go Bulldogs!”
